Sunday Ride

Sunday was our scheduled chapter ride. It really felt good to get on the bike. Kind of a short trip before the big trip. We rode to Helen with about a dozen good friends and family. Helen is a one of our favorite places to visit. It is an alpine town in the north Georgia mountians. We had some good German food (bratwurst, knockwurst, saurkraut, red cabbage and potato salad) under the bridge at the Troll Tavern. While waiting for out table we spent some time watching people tube down the river...which is a blast to do. After lunch we walked around town and did a little shopping. I always take a camera wherever I go, and in Helen there is plenty to take pictures of.

Of course the best part was the ride there and back. The road to Helen twist and turns as it rises and falls through the mountains. It cuts through the forest with trees draping the road and keeping you in cool shade. The weather yesterday was great. A little breeze, mostly overcast and very pleasant. It made for a fantastic ride.

Now I really cant wait for the trip to Montana. Saturday will be here soon.
