Day Two

Another nice day weather wise. Pretty much a carbon copy of yesterday. Started out leaving Paducah on I-24 with blue skies and puffy white clouds, the sun shining and cool temps. We rode across I-24 to I-57 and headed north a little where we caught I-64 over to St Louis. As we crossed the Mississippi River the Arch was directly on our right. Today, as yesterday, this was a "traveling day" so we just rode through St Louis without stopping. That will be another trip at another time. From St Louis we took I-70 across to Kansas City, MO and then I-29 north to St Joseph, MO where we stopped for the day. We found a motel near a motel we stayed at four years ago when we attended Star Days in St Joseph. After checking in we headed to a local restaurant for some quick food and some frozen custard. Then it was back to the hotel to plan tomorrow and get some sleep.....(an post this recap).
Today we did a little over 500 miles. Three miles into the day we crossed the Ohio and rode into Illinois then crossed the Mississippi into Missouri. Total mileage is now at about 920.
Tomorrow will be a shorter day. Only about 375 miles into South Dakota. In the process we will ride out of Missouri, into Iowa and then into South Dakota. It will be another "travel day" and there is a 50/50 shot of getting wet tomorrow, so it is good that it is a shorter day distance wise.

Not a whole lot to take pictures of today, but here are a few more shots from the back of the bike.
