Happy Independence Day

Today is the Fourth of July, officially know as Independence Day. Today amidst all our celebrations with cookouts and fireworks, we should take just a minute or two to really think about what this day means. America is a very unique country. We have freedoms that almost no other country allows their citizens. We are blessed. America was establish in the name of freedom. It is the true underlying current of the nation. The original colonists came here to avoid the shackles placed on them in their native lands. They wanted freedoms. They created a country that allowed them those freedoms. Over the years a great price has been paid to maintain those freedoms. We should not take it for granted. The vast majority of the founding fathers looked to God for inspiration and direction. I think on this day, it is appropriate that we take a moment and thank God for working through those men to create the country and the freedom that we now enjoy.
